I have the Pace Edwards roll top. I don't miss the little bit of room lost, besides the roll top box doesn't go all the way down to the bed floor; still room to stick stuff under. I would prob. have gone for the American Rolltop had I known it was out there, but I'm happy with the PE, especially the water tightness. Can't take much or any weight on the top though.

 

I like the fact that you can get a pace edwards cover that opens by remote control, but you can't put much weight on it, Not that I plan to any way, but you know kids.

 

Remote seems over the top. This cover slides nice and has the strap that you connect to the back of the box. You pull it to engage the gears for closing (also has a few click-stops along the way to fully closed), so no climbing in the box or grabing from the side which usually throws off alignment of the roll top after a few years.
