2009 Crewcab Boston Subwoofer Install...
Hey RGVram99 where did you go? I want see your kicka$$ box!
Looks good, I also made a fiberglass box but for just one 10 sub. I had to recess the sub about one inch so the rubber surround would not hit the bottom of the seat. Your subs have large surrounds, have you checked the clearance between the seat and your subs? Also let me know how yours turns out. I was worried that my box would not have enough volume to put out some decent bass, so I stuffed it with as much polyfill as I could. It will not win any SLP awards but it gives me the bass I want. I wonder how your box will work with four 10 subs, Good Luck.

That is a pic of the spacer going between the subs and the seats. Not done yet, but it will mount on top of the box to hold up the cloth underneath the seat.
Sorry guys, been real busy with work and family. I finally made time to figure out how to attach some pics. I could not use the forums attach files feature because my pics were to big. I opened up a photo bucket account, thanks for the suggestions. Here is a couple of quick pics of the box I made, it is a sealed fiberglass enclosure that goes all the way to the back of the cab on the drivers side. It is probably around .75 to .85 cubic feet, not much room under there. You can't really see it, but the the amp is mounted vertically behind the rear seat on the passenger side. Like I said it does not slam like a big box would, but it rattles everything inside the cab. Let me know if you can see the pics now.

Ok lets do this again, I was trying to post two different pics not the same one twice. Here is the second pic I wanted to post. Sorry. As you can see, I had to recess the sub about 3/4" so it would not touch the bottom of the seat. I'll take out the box later and take some more pics so you can get a better idea of the dimensions. I was real worried that the sub I selected was to big for the enclosure, but I am very happy with the results so far.

Nothing else as far as the audio system is concerned. I want to swap out the 6x9's in the back doors, the front doors sound pretty good so I'll leave them alone for now. My ultimate goal is to swap out the deck for a double din unit that plays DVD's. Then add a four channel amp and swap out the remaining speakers. I also want to add headrest monitors for the kids to wrap things up. Over all I have modified the exhaust with a 14" Magnaflow, K&N drop in filter and chrome side step bars.
Great idea if you don't plan on showing your truck. Are two subs not good enough? three subs unevenly spaced just doesn't look good. If sound is what your are looking for there are some pretty smart engineers at JL Audio that say one 10 inch sub on the passenger side rear is the best fit, but it looks like you just tried to put as many subs in that small space as possible. Did you take into consideration the amount of airspace each one of those subs needs to operate properly?

OP, even though I'd have chosen a different setup, I can appreciate the work you've put into it. Good luck.
