Default 2009 Crewcab Boston Subwoofer Install...

Here are some pics of the sub box I'm building. Click the pics, it will take you to the photo album... I'll post more in the album as I go, going to do an entire install soon. The subs I'm using are Boston Acoustics G5 10-4 10" with the Boston GTR passive radiators. Been a real pain in the @$$ to get them to fit under the seat.... more to come...

Looks good, I also made a fiberglass box but for just one 10 sub. I had to recess the sub about one inch so the rubber surround would not hit the bottom of the seat. Your subs have large surrounds, have you checked the clearance between the seat and your subs? Also let me know how yours turns out. I was worried that my box would not have enough volume to put out some decent bass, so I stuffed it with as much polyfill as I could. It will not win any SLP awards but it gives me the bass I want. I wonder how your box will work with four 10 subs, Good Luck.

Wow I can't wait! I've been contemplating a similar install, but w/ only one 10" in a sealed box, either a JL or Infinity Kappa. I have the factory Alpine and probably will sell the factory sub.

How are you figuring the interior air volume?

Yea, I'm not done with the top yet, there is another piece that will hold the underside of the seat up off the woofer surrounds. There actually only 2 subs, the middle ones are passive radiators.

I actually did not worry too much about airspace. I took some rough measurements and then decided to just go as big as sensible. According to Boston Acoustics, these subs only need .5 cu. ft. when used in conjunction with their GTR passive radiator. This is my first Passive Radiator box, so I am hoping for the best. I did hear a single G5 12 with the GTR and it sounded awesome.

Holy crap Batman!! Now that is what I call a center console. Another dumb question, how do you attach pics to your thread, I tried using the attach file feature and it fails to down load, any suggestions, I would like to post some pics of my fiberglass box to give you guys some ideas.

It's been awhile since I did that, but here's a link to the FAQ:

I use www.picturetrail.com for pic uploading. Just add them to an album there then you can copy links for individual pics or an entire album..
