Had the truck in today for an oil change and mentioned to the service guy that I'd been in a buddies truck and it seemed like his MDS was on a whole lot more than mine. Asked if he thought it was because mine had 3.21's and the other was a 3.55? He asked me if the MDS enguagement was "jerky" - I said that I could tell when it came on but it wasn't bothersome. They did a flash on it and I was amazed how much the Fuel Saver stayed on for my trip home. Hopefully that will translate into even better milage.
Unfortunately they didn't have the parts for the exhaust stud RRT so it'll have to go back in again when they do. Luckily I'll be working 6 blocks from that dealer for the next few months.

I am friends with the service manager so I had mine reflashed a few months ago to latest update for my pcm and my fuel saver light comes on a lot now because it is more tied directly to pedal pressure than directly related to MDS engagement. With my last tuner 'tweaks', I turned MDS off, did not realize how much more smooth and responsive truck is without it and fuel mileage has been affected by .5 mpg according to computer so far, worth it to me since I live on back country roads and this thing would go in and out of MDS mode constantly and made the truck seem more sluggish than without. And the fuel saver light still comes on even though MDS is disabled with the flashpaq. Build date is 12/08.
I will get one more reflash done if there is an update for my pcm code before the 36k miles, since it is all free until then. Perhaps they will make the fuel saver light tied directly to MDS engagement again with that update but since latest flash, mine is tied directly to pedal pressure where prior, it was directly tied to MDS engagement.
