Easiest way is to just buy the factory parts. There are several threads here with the part numbers. While you have it all apart you might want to also add the factory power lock so that the tailgate locks and unlocks with the doors.

Here's a good one on installing just the locking handle

And here is mine on installing the power latch

Right around $100. It does require that you have the locking handle, so you also need to buy that and the rods.

for 89 bucks you can put the Pace Edwards power lock on, fairly easy hardest part is running the wire under the truck to the front but it is much easier to hook up than the factory one. Only drawback is no power no open tailgate. Unless of course you can get into your tonneau and open that then if you really have to open the tailgate and no way to get a boost or anything you can always open the inside cover of the tailgate and unlock it manually. I have not had an issue with mine Ihooked it up to open with the drivers door, you can set it up to work with the rest of the doors instead..Comes with 2 relays and hooks directly to the battery and and the main ground then 2 wires to the up and down wires of the lock...and your are all set working with your keyfob. No programming. Simple.

Don't u need the locking tailgate already for the pace Edwards one? I looked in to that and that was the way I understood it. Or does it just prevent the handle from bein opened?

Nope it is the power lock and yes it prevents the handle from being lifted.
