Default Wrong Sirius Date

I bought my truck on September 30, 2009 last year, today I get a letter from Sirius saying that my free trail expires on July 21, 2010!!!! I called the dealership and salesman that I bought the truck off of said to call Sirius. The VERY rude guy from Sirius said that the dealership started the subscription on July 21 of last year and he could do nothing about it. I called the dealership back and the salesman acted like there was nothing he could do, I told him that they need to get me my full year free or I'm taking this up the ladder. Anyone else have this problem??

I would talk to the GM if two months mean that much to you. If the dealership won't help with the sat radio, maybe you can get a oil change or two in trade.

On renewing, Sirius has been cutting some good deals.

I kinda got lucky. I bought my truck at the end of march and while I was driving last summer, the radio went out. I called sirius and told them about the problem and they fixed it and started my free year from that date. I'm still on my free trial and I've had the truck for 1 year and two months.

I got even luckier I bought a radio REN from EBAY and the sat was working, it went beyond my date by a few months but they were pestering me to renew so I told them I was waiting on a radio the one I was using, to expire so i could buy it from my friend . Well they did some type of upgrade a month later and mine didn't work anymore but I have in it 2 other vehicles and got special rates for that so they wanted like 169 at first I said nope and when the others expire cancel them too. After going back and forth I wound up with 55 bucks for the year including tax.

Dealer just left a message and said that everything is taken care of, I guess we will see come July 21. (maybe I should have some cheesy countdown timer LOL) I'm still trying to figure out why the dealership activated the radio while it was still sitting on the lot.....

All I would do is if it does expire in July, I would tell Serius that unless they sweeten the renewal, you'll do without it. Serius has been calling my cell for 2 weeks straight(Mine expires 2 June) I'll call them a couple months later and see what kinda deal they got.

I am not at all surprised Sirus was rude with you. After my year trial ended I told them I did not want to re-subscribe. They called my cell *daily* often multiple times on the same day. Despite my telling them NOT to call me anymore and advising them in writing as well they persisted ANYWAY. Only a complaint filed with the FTC got them to quit calling. I would never do buisness with them again, absolutely the worst customer service I have encountered in my life - beware.

I got a letter the other day as well. Mine is up in July too, but I purchased my truck December 30th. I haven't had a chance to call them yet. We'll see how that goes.

I received same letter from Sirius this weekend saying my free trial will expire July 21, 2010. I bought my truck in Nov 2009. It seems that Sirius is into something fishy - expiry from most of the posters is the same date.

same thing happened to me on my last truck, I didn't bother to complain as I was too busy travelling, but I only ended up with about 10 months instead of a year
