You bought it at the dealer right? Mine 09 came with the warranty paper work along with all the other paperwork. It's just a simple form. They can just make you a copy.

Ps......All 09"s are covered anyway and you require nothing more than ownership.

Does the 60 day window keep you from having the inspection done early? In other words, is your warranty void if the inspection is not performed during that window or can you have it done now and be good for 5 years?

They told me within thirty days before the 5 years are up. But they said they are flexible. They do not ever want to commit to anything it seems

Yeah, they want to make a fairly ridgid and narrow window in order to use it as an escape clause if you don't come in on time. I travel a lot in my truck so I may have to use a dealer on the road somewhere. It should not be an issue, but I do want to know the rules.

So this warranty inspection is JUST time based... and is not also or otherwise Milage based? I ask because by the time I hit 5 years I'll likely have over 80k maybe even over a 100k. I have had my 09 since July of 09' and it is about 48k now... so it is seriously realistic that at 5 yrs I'll be at or over 100k and at 10 i'll be at or over 200k... and so on.. had 180k on the 02' Grand Caravan I had before I got the Ram.... I love the Ram, but often actually miss that Grand Caravan... was a great automobile... ...

If you bought it as new then it would be the day you got it I would think, I had that issue I bought a demo and it had 7000 kms and in service date was the day I got it since I bought it as new.

No where in my 09 warranty manual does it say anything about milage for the 5 year inspection. "This inspection will be performed at no charge. The inspection must be made within sixty (60) days of each 5 year anniversary of the in-service date of the vehicle. "

It is time based only. IMO, Dodge/Ram is betting the majority of people do not keep their vehicles over 5 to 7 years, or over 100K milage. There are a few like me who tend to keep vehicle 10 or more years. I don't do very high milage each year.

Good post. I think my 5th year will be a new truck year though. I am going to 100K.... Give or take. I only buy in the Spring, so I have to look at my miles and go for it in 13 or 14, likely 14 based on my current miles. I am holding hope for a few more ponies by then.

Wow...been over a year since I last read this thread.....lotsa confusion.

In service date is your buy date. Warranty is only for original owner. Plan the inspection within 60 days of ISD. Do it to keep your lifetime warranty! Easy plan...why make it harder than needed? Who cares if it " sounds like a joke", its a free warranty and merely a checkup! Its just simple....drop it off and pick it up. They may find a problem you will WANT to know about....its freeeeeeeeee.
