Default 2009 Lifetime Warranty Reminder

I can't remember off the top of my head what the intervals are to keep the lifetime warranty in effect but wanted to remind you 2009 owners to check your manuals to make sure you do not disqualify your warranty from not having the dealer perform their check to keep the warranty active. I beleive there is no charge for the service to do it.

I think the dealer inspection, if that's what you are referring to, is once every 5 years.

Yes. It is 5 Years. I will also check to see if it is part of the service manual to be sure I don't forget about it. Time can tick quickly and plan to have this truck for quite some time.

The 5 year inspection sounds like a joke...here is the description of the inspection out of the factory service manual...

5 YEAR INSPECTION - LIFETIME POWERTRAIN WARRANTY

The following steps outline the dealer inspection procedure required every 5 years for vehicles covered under the terms of the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. Refer to the appropriate warranty information for additional terms and coverages applicable to the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty.
1.Lift the vehicle on a suitable hoist.2.Check all Powertrain components for leaks or physical damage. Note any concerns.3.Lower the vehicle and check the level and condition of the engine oil.4.Connect a diagnostic scan tool and check for any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).

What about checking the other fluids? No test drive? Without it how do they know 4 wd works? Well that is their so far away so as it is easy to forget to do and I bet there is no grace period.

From my 2009 warranty book.

G. Inspections
In order to maintain the Lifetime Powertrain Limited
Warranty, the person or entity covered by this Powertrain
Limited Warranty must have a powertrain inspection
performed by an authorized Chrysler, Dodge, or
Jeep dealer once every 5 years. This inspection will be
performed at no charge. The inspection must be made
within sixty (60) days of each 5 year anniversary of the
in-service date of the vehicle. You must have the
inspection performed to continue this coverage.
For your convenience, powertrain inspection logs
have been provided. You should use these logs to
keep track of each 5 year powertrain inspection interval.
