I have had wind noise on my 09 crewcab since new. It appears to be the right rear door. It is worse in a crosswind. I would like it fixed if possible, just don't want to jack with the dealer unless there is a known fix available.

I have it on my 09 CC sport, the dealer adjusted the door, said it's the best he can do, but the noise is still there, usually when doing 70+, when there is a crosswind.
Is there an RRT for this maybe ?

After having mine fixed by the dealer I would still get the noise, but it wasn't as loud and not as often. I didn't want them to push the door in anymore. It was noticible to me and I didn't want it worse. I took a look at the gasket with the door open and noticed that right about where I was hearing the noise the gasket did not lay flat on the door. It seemed as though the clip just wouldn't hold it correctly. I took the clip out and heated the "wings" on it and bent them down to help hold the gasket closer to the door. I no longer hear the noise (took a 4 hour trip), but we are no longer having strong crosswinds. I feel it may have taken care of it or at least helped.

Had issues with the pics show just added links.

In this picture you can see (hopefully) where the door was pulled in. The left side is a little offset. I didn't want them to pull it in anymore to make it more visible.

This shows about about where I was having the problem. Before they pulled in the door and I "fixed" the gasket the gasket in that area road higher (by the red line).

This pic shows the inside. Before I fixed the "wings" on the tab the gasket did not sit directly on the door. There was a bit of a gap where the red line is. That matched up with where it was riding high on the outside.

Hope this stuff helps. Like I said no more noise for me, but those good crosswinds won't be back till fall or spring.

Well I finally was able to get my truck into the local dealership. First off service manager was receptive to helping address and fix the issue.

Kept the truck for a day and ended up sending it over to a body shop to adjust the door. Door was adjusted but howling issue is still there (disappointed). Today they will be ordering a new seal in to see if that cures the issue. Body shop said they adusted the door as far as possible and next best solution would be the seal.

Before taking it in I did some testing as others have stated to determine exactly where the noise was coming from. Mine is specifically coming from the door seal next to the side mirror. This part of the seal goes from a double seal down to a single. Seems apparent that at this location the door does sit a snug and therefore air is getting in and causing the howling noise. The seal has a lip on two sides and then goes down to one about 5" before you get to the mirror and before the door edge goes vertical.

I'm disappointed in the dealership because I pinpointed the location of the issue with +/- 5". I'll definitely report back on what occurs afterwards. Love the truck but damn. Brand new and having issues.

I started this thread a while back, as I was having howling issues with my driver's door. I tried bending the door in slightly, etc., with no change in the howl. It happened whenver I got a strong cross wind over 75 mph.

I finally pinpointed it to an area of the door seal about 5 inches above the side mirror, where the A-pillar meets the door frame and seal. The only solution I found was to roll some duct tape up into the shape of a pen (same dimensions but not as thick), and then tape it in place in the A-Pillar "gutter" where the outer door frame seal would sit in when the door is closed. So you don't see duct tape everytime you open the door, you could probably tape the roll between the door seal on the door frame. Hopefully I described this clearly enough; hard to explain without photos. Just pinpoint the location of howling by pushing on the door when it does it. If the sound goes away, the area you are pushing on is most likely where the seal is not tight.

Anyways, I told the dealer that it was obviously not sealing right. They measured the door and said it was within spec., but that they would at least replace the seals to see if that fixed it. It did for mine, knock on wood, but if it doesn't for you, try the tape to thicken the door seal connection. I will try and get photos to help explain the solution better.

I have that wind noise on my '09 when there is a cross wind.
I am living with it. My truck doesn't leak when it rains.
I don't want anyone messing with the door gaskets.

Mine too, at first I thought there was something caught between the tire and the the fender liner.
