Default front grille removal

To people that have swapped out the front grille, did you have any issues or snags along the way?

I ordered a body color grille for my sport and want to instal it tonight, I know how much they love to use clips and fancy fasteners that break when you remove them these days, so wanted to see if there is anything I should be made aware of....

I will take pics and post when im done....

Take care when pulling out the 4 plastic darts that hold on the plastic piece on top of the radiator. It is easy to rip the heads. Put some masking tape on the bumper cover to protect it from scratches as the bottom of the grille pops out. After that, remove the 4 bolts holding the top of the grille, then gently lean it towards the front. Reach behind the grille and use a long screwdriver to GENTLY lift the big plastic clips (one on each side) at the bottom that are holding the grille in. Pull the grille's bottom towards the front to disengage. That's it.

Definitely tape the flat part of the plastic bumper, I have a huge scratch from the grill by not taping it.

I guess it's too late but here's a set of instructions for other people that would like to do this. A friend and I just swapped our grille inserts on saturday because we had what each other really wanted on our trucks. I have a sport and it came with the horizontal chrome bars and he got the SLT with black honeycome and chrome bumpers. And I'm not much of a chrome person on a truck and he is so it was a perfect free swap.

You can see my original grille insert in my sig so here a picture with the new insert
