Is there any way to fit a 2006 Westin bull bar on a 2009? I can buy it for $100, but the model numbers different so I doubt they're compatible. I assume most of the Westin bull bars are the same shape, just different mounting kits. Has anyone had any experience installing a different model # to their truck?

Looks like you had to cut into the plastic air dam under the bumper? Wanting a bull bar myself, just not sure if I want to cut into that.

EDIT: Forgot to say that looks tough, really like the look of it.

Yes, I had to cut two slots in the plastic splash shield. I figure it would be a cheap enough part to replace if I wasn't happy with the look, any junkyard will have them soon enough. And, if you were really concerned, you could just leave it off.....

Thanks for the comps..

I might give it a try, I can weld like a machine, but when it comes to cutting plastic or doing woodwork or whatever I don't have a steady hand for cutting nice lines lol.

does it only mount underneath the bumper only or are there brackets from behind that bolt where the tow hooks would be?

Ya I would like to see this bar on a sport truck. Sad only one truck has posted so far. Must not be a popular item.

It only mounts behind the bumper.... nothing up by the tow hooks.
