First off, you shouldn't concern yourself with what the payment is until after you now all the numbers, you want to get the lowest cost for the new truck and most for your trade and you should now what each is worth before ever going to the dealer. You don't list what you paid for the new truck only the payment. A lower payment means nothing, their are many variables that a dealer can use to get to a lower number payment wise but you may be paying a lot more for truck then you realize. The tradein amount seems decent to me.

I calculate you paid 41,682 for the new truck, So if I'm correct you paid over sticker price on this truck, you should be able to get for at least a couple under sticker. At least you'll know next time, in the mean time thats a nice truck you got thier.

This shouldn't be that hard to investigate. Throw out all references to trade values or existing loan payoffs or current loan amounts or monthly payments. Get your purchase agreement and find the selling price of the new truck (raw number, before tax, title, license). Then find all references to rebates. Subtract the rebates from the selling price and you have how much you paid (excluding TTL). THAT'S the only number you can use to compare to anybody else's deal. Now, if you got 0% financing and your only other option was something like 3.99% for 60 months, you can also calculate how much you saved on the financing. 0% financing is like a rebate, just saved over time.

All the other stuff, trade value, old loan, new monthly payment, etc. is totally meaningless to comparing how much you paid with other folks. However, if the dealer threw in some accessories for free or at a discount less than you could get elsewhere then that could be added to the deal.

From what I've seen in the last few months, if your final sale amount is 7-10K off sticker you got a good, solid deal. If you got 10-12K you got a smokin' deal. If you got more than 12K off you probably bought in 2009, not summer 2010.

Darn, after reading this thread I may have gotten ripped off too. I even went out of state to find a quad cab with hemi and 3:92 rear end and 4 by 4 plus the PS with floor mounted shift lever plus the luxury group and 32 gal tank and Uconnect (love that feature). It is the TRX model and listed for 38115 and I got it for 16737 OTD (sales tax is only 300 in SC plus about another 125 in fees) plus a 2008 Dodge Ram single cab SXT model with a 4.7 2 wh drive. The 2008 only had about 15000 miles on it and I had only paid 15500 for it in 2008 (had a super sale then-bought it without a trade). I am an EP buyer so my price is pretty well set except some dealers give me nerf bars, bed liner and mud flaps installed on top of my price.(this one didn't) I did blow it as there was one weekend Chrysler was giving another 1000 dollars rebate--but I did wait till I found out what I think I want anyhow. Only thing so far I don't like are the painted bumpers, but got all the other equipment I wanted so --I am trying to BE HAPPY with those 390 horses pulling me around town. Very nice truck and love the great ride and I have 9900lb towing capacity with those 17 inch tires. (believe that is correct) I think the rebates may be more now--but may not have found what I wanted--not as many 4by4s sent to the South (live in SC).

there ordered the rear window and the blk top part of the rear bumper, said there going to sand it 3000 grit sandpaper, the areas that have over spray and buff it, get it back to how it was before they screwed it up, also redo the bed liner cuz the tale gate is thin in some spots you can see the red

so i wont be happy untill they fix all the scraches and take off the over spray

but he said it shouldnt mess up the clear coat.. i think it will but i never done any painting on cars
