Post Need Power to 12v Outlets...

Hi all,

I'm a new Ram owner and new to the forum. Just bought a 2500 Diesel TRX (off-road) and so far pretty happy. My biggest issue right now is powering some 12v accessories when the engine is off. In my Chevy (that I traded in) I could charge batteries for some small tools via the 12v outlet (cigarette lighter). I used to charge them in the Chevy truck whether the engine was on or not. In my new Dodge, the key has to be in the "accessory" position for these outlets to be active (or the truck has to be running). Anybody know of an easy way to wire these outlets to be on all the time? This is about the only thing I really miss from my Chevy, makes charging my batteries a hassle too. Appreciate any help.

If you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself.... Go to a local car stereo shop and have your outlets switched from ignition to constant. IT's about a 15 -30 min job. I dont know anything about the diesels but my gas truck has 3 cig outlets and 2 of them are constant on...
