do you have oversized wheels or do you do a lot of highway driving..

to be honest there isnt a whole big difference between the two.. the 392s would get you slightly better rpms at 70 mph

4.10 is cheaper if you go all Mopar.

Whatever you do, I would stick with mopar parts. Get the LSD also.

A. Mopar parts at a dealer: Ring and pinion with install kit including labor = $1300 to $2000 (about a 60-40 chance of getting a good set up)

B. Aftermarket parts and third party installation: $700-$900 if you dont mind the annoying whine which WILL happen.

C. Mopar complete axle with gears factory installed = $1300 at a discount parts dealer and do a self install. (100% chance of a good set-up and less than a day of down time)

I plan to accomplish plan C.

This has come up several times in earlier threads.

Some owners are happy with their 3.21's...some are happy with 3.55's and some are happy with 3.92's.

It all depends on these factors.

1. Weight of towed trailer

2. Frequency of towing

3. Objectives when towing. This is the MOST SUBJECTIVE of the three and where most of the arguments originate.

Some want MPG efficiency above all else. Others want race track acceleration. Some want lowest possible coolant and oil temps. Others want to tow 100% of the rated towing capacity.

You can't have it all simultaneously without additional mods and even then something has to be sacrificed to achieve gains elsewhere.

So where do YOU strike a balance of priorities and budget constraints?

Just buy the complete axle assembly from Chrysler and swap it out yourself.

discountmoparparts.net has the 4.10 complete with LSD for $1270.75

Are you serious? For 1270 I can get the whole assembly? I will just have to swap over brake components, and bleed the brake system? My dealer wants to charge me 800.00 just for the Mopar ring and pinion and a 700.00 for the LSD. With install is was going to cost about 2200.00, I told them to go pound sand.
