Default 17" wheels on a 6" lift

I've only looked at 6" Pro Comp lift and the 6" Skyjacker lift kit for a 2010 Dodge Ram and both kits say the wheels have to be 18" or bigger. Is there a 6" lift kit that can use 17" wheels? 18" wheels are nice but I always liked more tire less wheel.

I don't see where the rim size matters. I've used 15", 16", 17", 18", and 20" rims on my Jeeps with no problem. Lift sizes ranged from 4-8" lifts. The biggest thing is bolt pattern and backspacing. You don't want to rub the frame either with a wide tire.

Our problems are because of the size of our rotors and calipers, that is why we cant go lower than 17's on there stock

I know with the 6 inch Superlift you can use 17'' wheels with 4.5'' backspacing. The website says you must use an 18'' rim with 5 inch backspacing but mine, and several other lifted 09's on here prove it wrong. I think that rule is just if you dont want your tires and wheels to stick out from the fenders....personally I like the way they look poking out from the fenders....gives it that "monster truck" look. I have a 2009 1500 with that lift and I'm running 17x8 American Racing Baja's with 4.5'' backspacing on 37x12.50 ProComp mud Terrains. Looks great, check out my photo album!

I have a 6" BDS lift with 2" revtek preload spacers and I have 37x12.50 Nitto Trail Grapplers 20x10 951 Moto metal with -20 backspacing. It rides fine.

i see that BIGHORN 4 LIFE said that it rides good , but whats the difference in the ride as apposed to stock? im looking to do a 6' lift with a 4"-6" body lift. how does that change the handling of the truck at speeds of 50-80 mph? also i heard that mud tires make a lot of noise which im concerned with. i like the big tires but i dont want the noise to be too loud if possible. i would be doing this just for looks, i'm not looking to do any serious off roading, but would still like to be able to plow thru fields if i choose to.also is it better to get a smaller rim with a bigger tire, wouldnt a smaller rim say a 18" instead of a stock 20" spin faster? Also do you need to add the flares, not sure how i feel about them yet? sorry to jack your thread KAYCAZ.

My truck rides a little stiffer then stock and my Nitto trail tires have very little noise on highway. The BDS lift I have will let you do pretty much whatever you want to do.I will probably paint my flares later but I likem the way they are.
