Default Looking for Ram Center Consoe Part Number. Dealer cant figure it out!!!!!

I have a 2009 Ram 1500. It came with bucket seats and a flip down console. I have traded a guy for a full console out of a 2009 but it as a shifter in the middle. My shifter is on the column.

In the new 2010 Heavy Duty trucks, the shifter is located on the column, and in place of the shifter is a store bin with the cupholders.

I am looking for that part number for that peice that goes in the opening so I can swap it with this shifter.

If anyone has figured this out please let me know.

This is what I have

Here is an exploded parts diagram for the console. Nowhere in the fiche could I find a shifter delete kit, which is what I'm assuming that part would be called. Is that a 1500 in the second picture or a 2500? I've never seen a column shift with a console in a 1500...doesn't mean it doesn't exist though.

Actually, I just read that you said it was only on 2010 Heavy Duty Rams that came that way. If it is a 2010-specific part, you may be waiting a while. I can't get cruise control parts for a 2010 from the dealership yet. They said it would be a while before all 2010 parts are available. Which makes me wonder...how would they get the part if it was something being fixed under warranty? The parts guys at dealerships are usually clueless, so I tend to look for OEM part distributors online. Problem is, their 2010 part selection is slim as well.

Well, it's definitely a RAM 2500-3500 part...and it's definitely a 2010 part. And it isn't in any of the parts fiche's online yet. The dealership should be able to find it though...just hound them. Or call a different one. And make sure they are looking at parts for a 2010 RAM 2500 or 3500 HD.

I have been hounding them everyday. They have a 2500 sitting in the showroom and I told the guy, this is what im looking for.

I was hoping that they would be the kind of dealer that would go the extra mile and pop the top ring of and take the peice out and see what the part number is but they dont appear to be.

Perhaps the part is only sold in combination with a bigger unit, such as the whole console. Often auto parts are not individually available, even when it seems to make sense for them to be. You may have to resort to waiting for one to turn up in a salvage yard in order to get the part.

By the way, does anyone know the price of part #8 in the above diagram (the trim ring)? I'm thinking of painting mine to avoid the sun glare off the chrome but I'd like to know how much it would cost if I F it up and need to buy a replacement.

Thanks,
Rob

(sorry for the minor threadjack...)

It's $50-60 depending on where you purchase it. List price is $71.10.
