I just got my first dreaded ding and now that it is broken in I can use my truck as a
truck. I guess I can be an Internet tough guy now! Lol

I stopped at a detailing shop and they said that although the scratches are too deep to completely buff out, they can make it look much less noticeable by buffing it out... I will go in for an appointment soon

they totally recommended against using touch up paint

This is why I am the guy that parks so far out that you need a satellite to find my truck.

You can try as I have done for years but in the end... you just cant keep anything nice in this world.

The forces of human nature, that being people who don't own nice things therefore don't think about yours, gravel trucks spewing gravel down the expressway, salt trucks flinging rock salt and you know those guys who throw shovel loads of that hot patch out in the middle of the road waiting for your $50k truck to pack it down... there's no hope!

its life man, it sux that your brand new truck cant stay brand new forever but face it its not going to happen. If you've got the time and the energy to lose it one every single person that parks to close or "almost" scratches your truck i think you need a different occupation.
I like nice things too and I hate disrespectful people, but the world is full of them and telling someone off sure wont change it.
My advice, man up and keep if there's no harm done than keep your mouthful to yourself.
Either that or park your precious "baby" in the garage and take it to car shows where no one will get to close to it.

If your that worried about a scratch then you should have a chauffer pick you up and drop you off, you certainly shouldnt be parked in a parking lot. its a chance you take.
Who are you gonna yell at when you get caught in a hail storm or a bird chits on your brand new wash job?? the roads are full of pebbles and debris just waiting to be kicked up onto your paintjob.
If you cant handle it, dont subject it to the elements.

I park out there too. Far as I can. Now, that said, if the lot is more full and there are 5 spots between and someone with a nice vehicle parks way out, I park next to them because I know the reason they are out there. I know I'm protected too. I figure they park out there not to get dinged, so I feel safe next to them.

So... what you are saying is if someone takes a baseball bat to your truck you would just shrug it off and say it's just a truck. No big deal. It's part of the elements. That's the problem with some people they are afraid to speak there mind, and yes the world is full of ***'s but I'll deal with them one person at a time. Use your common sense when you drive , park. eat, whatever you do. People need to show a little courtesy.

Default It doesn't just happen to trucks

Our three week old Honda Civic was parked across the street from an arena in an EMPTY lot.
Not another car in sight.
Within minutes, a van pulls in and (apparently) backs into the car as if it had a target painted on it.

$1600.00 damage to repair.

The woman had the decency to tell us about it and paid for the repairs.

We hadn't even made the first payment!

These are door ding magnets with the big flat doors, I wish they came with painted side mouldings. I know they sell the chrome ones but I have too much chrome already.

I havent got one yet, but sooner or later someone will get the door I'm sure. I try to park out of the way but sooner or later someone with a rusty 79 T-bird will park 6" away even if I park in the middle of nowhere.
