Default Converted from GM (new Ram 1500 Sport)

Hello everyone,

After many great years with GM vehicles, the last 4 of which were happily with a 2002 Sierra SLT ECSB 4x4. I though with all the incentives and cash back offers I would look at something new. Well, after looking at the GMC/Chev as well as Ford and Toyota, I looked at the new Ram 1500, as was hooked.

The next thing I knew, my Sierra was sold and I was picking up my new 2010 Ram 1500 Sport, Mineral Grey, with sunroof, nav.

So far, I love it more every time I drive it, haha. Haven't had a chance to get any good pics yet, but here is a quick one I took with my BlackBerry.
Looking forward to posting on a new board! Thanks for having me.

Welcome aboard! I too changed from GMC and really like the RAM (I liked my GMCs also but got tired of the freaking arrogance of the company and the dealers). The Ram deal was just too good to pass up. Now it seems like the change is paying off. Ram quality is light years better then before - and since I have a 2009, I have lifetime drive-train warranty to boot.

I really have nothing too good to say about by 07 Silverado which I traded in for my 2010 Sport. It was underpowered and seemed to be cheaply made. I had 3 GM trucks since my last Dodge, a 97. The 2004 GMC was actually a decent truck, but power wise none compared to my Ram. And surprisingly, the gas mileage seems a bit better on the Ram.

These new Rams are awesome. The sport with it's unique front end is to me one of the best looking trucks out there right now. I test drove the new Silverado, Avalanche and Tundras before coming back to the Dodge. Tundra has the power, but Dodge has a much better ride and looks better to me. Silverado was nice but underpowered. Avalanche was very nice, but similarly equipped was about 6k more and they weren't dealing anything like Dodge was and it too was underpowered compared to the dodge. I'm like you, I enjoy this truck more every time I drive it.

Did you test drive a Chevy with the 6.2 with 6 speed and 3.73 gears? Probably not considering it has more power and take off speed than our Rams.

I agree the Ram is the best truck on the market today and I actually did have a 08 GMC Sierra with the 5.4 and 4 speed before my Ram. The Ram is deffinately put together better, looks better, and has more power but is apples to oranges in the power dept.

Just trying to give credit where credit is due is all.

No, It was not the 6.2 and I agree that those would be great performers, but probably would suck at the pump. Got a friend with one that says his gas mileage is horrendous. I don't think he has the transmission they have in the new ones, so they probably do much better than his, but I would be shocked if it were anything like these new Hemi Rams can do mileage wise. I am still cranked about how I can pull out onto the highway with traffic coming and be up to speed in no time. If I had wanted to do it any faster I would get a SRT-8 Challenger. Those things are NICE!

I did test drive a couple used Denali's, with the 6.2. It was an awesome engine, and a sweet truck.

But, a 2007-08 Denali cost as much as a brand new Ram, so to be it seemed like the right thing to do by going with the Ram.

The 2009 Silverado 6.2L takes over 7 seconds from 0-60 and over 15.5 seconds to get down the quarter mile. With a lot of Hemi Rams doing high 5 second 0-60's and quarter miles in the 13's a 6.2L Silverado owner could *easily* get his *** handed to him.
