Default Keyfob issues

I am posting this thread for my brother-in-law, he has a 2009 1500 SLT, the problem is when turning off the truck the keyfob will not release from the ignition, truck turns off and on, but will not release the key once off. He has already taken the truck in once for this issue and dealer said they fixed it but a day later it happend again. Has anyone had this issue as well? Any known fix. Thanks

Make sure the truck is in park before turning the key off and trying to remove it - it works wonders.

Does he hang a whole bunch of other keys on that same key ring? If so I know older actual steel ignition switches would fail or the starter would lock the extra weight would mess up the socket, I could just imagine what it would do to plastic!
