Personally I like the looks of the sport, but I had an even greater dislike for having a plastic front bumper. Furthermore I really didn't like the huge center console and the chrome plastic shift ring (blinded me on a test drive). The bench front seat just seemed more practical to me, which wasn't available on the sport. I ended up getting a smoking deal on a Laramie crew cab with the leather front bench seat, slate interior and two tone paint. It even came with the 34 gal tank and sunroof. I've been very happy with it.

You do realize their is metal behind that plastic cover? No different that our wheels for the most part. "A painted clad bumper".

If it came down to it, having a plastic cover or painting the metal bumper (to make a sport truck) I would rather have the cover. It is more durable to things like stones and will not show rust.

Actually the beef behind the Sport bumper is a composite plastic material in a honeycomb pattern. It meets collision requirements all the same but regardless, my point in not wanting the painted plastic bumper was the fact that painted plastic front bumpers get stone chips. Over time it shows its age much easier than a chrome steel bumper. Yes there are 'clear protection coatings' you can add, but that's an investment I didn't need to make with my chrome bumper. Although the chrome bumpers can have minor rust spotting, I've already learned that a $2 bottle of turtle wax chrome polish and 30 minutes of my time once per year keep that in check. If you are happy with your sport bumper that is great. It just wasn't for me. Add that to the interior pluses and conveniences the Laramie had over the Sport and my decision was easy. Deep Water Blue sports still turn my head when I see them pass though.

Yep to each his own, I have a 2010 crew sport deepwater blue 4x2 i hate chrome, currently looking for a way to get rid of the front and rear chrome badges. Thats why i bought the sport and i like the darker interior of the sport.
