Default Laramie vs Sport

I am currently looking at getting a new ram, not sure whether I’m going to spring for 4wd or not. All the dealers around me are marking around 10k off the sticker, so I know I can get a good price. I have been looking at the different trims and I’m a little confused when it comes to the Laramie vs Sport. I like the exterior of the Sport, but the interior of the Laramie is really nice. When I look at getting leather and the upgraded stereo in the sport the price is about equal to the Laramie. It just seems like the Laramie is a better bang for your buck. Am I missing something on the Sports? I noticed that a lot of people on the forum seem to have gone with the Sports.

<p>Its really a preference thing. I went with the sport because of the color matched parts, but wished I could have gotten a tan interior. All the sports I have seen are black interior. If you get a sport I would recommend the vented front seats. Can't go wrong either way. THe Only difference on the inside was wood inserts and the option of the heated rear seat. Laramies also have the side view mirrors that angle down when u put it in reverse. Hope this helps.

Thanks Shoes09, I looked at the Tan interior and really liked it too. I wasnt aware that the leather in the sport didnt come with the rear heated seats, but unlike the vented, heat probably wont get used much.

Ill check out the other thread thanks for posting the link.

I waded through the options list and came to the same conclusion: A fully loaded Sport and a Laramie aren't significantly different in price.
I prefer the dark interior of the Sport compared to the Laramie. I really don't care for the wheel well inserts and think the body colour grill and bumpers look better than the Laramie's chrome.
The power adjustable pedals on the Laramie have a memory position that the Sport doesn't, but all in all, I prefer the colouring of the Sport interior. The Laramie also has 6 spoke wheels as compared to 5 on the Sport.

My last two trucks were 2WD, but I decided to go 4WD on this one. Resale would be better for a 4WD.

Now if the damned thing would just get here........

(Ordered March 31st; still waiting although they say it has been built)

Wow, that's a long and curious wait. I ordered mine 4/23 and it was built 5/12 and I took delivery 6/4. Have you had your dealer try to track down what the hell is going on with it?

I'm told that it is on its way from Detroit to Winnipeg and then should arrive by truck on Monday.
FWIW, I think the first payment isn't due until a month after delivery(?)

(Same colour as yours)

Hopefully it does show up soon! Your wait will be worth it.

Hopefully you find the truck you have been looking for and get all the options you wanted.

The color matched exterior is what sold me on the Sport. The local dealer was doing a great deal on Laramies at the time, and if they'd had a monotone black or red, I probably would have ended up in a Laramie instead.
