Default Service Dept thievery

So irritated right now. Took my truck into Bellevue Dodge for service (they did some warranty work, performed some RRT's etc), and when I got it back, about $4 in change was missing from the coinholders in the center console. They left 1 quarter, 1 dime, and 1 nickel in the coinholders (obviously hoping I wouldn't notice). I could care less about the money, but stealing is stealing, whether it's $4 or $4000.

Needless to say, I made a scene in the service bay. Of course nobody knew a thing about it. Funny how a dealership is willing to throw away a customer for $4.

Understand that they have one employee doing this.Probably not the tech.I went through the same thing more then once over the years. The last one was a nice young fellow that did a good job parking cars, taking customers home etc.I had to bait a car to be parked and watch the lane.He parked it.The dollar was gone.I asked him to give it to me and he did.Fired him on the spot. Its not easy running a business with a fair amount of employees.Tel the manager what has happened and hopefully he'll act upon it.

Ever thought of taking stuff out of your vehicle before leaving at any garage. While it is not right someone stole, a little prevention is in order nowdays.

I have had folks leave guns. One said his 38 was ripped off.We had his Cadillac a day,BUT it had been to a full service car wash RIGHT before he drove down the street to us.It was never recovered I take anything of value out of my vehicles before leaving one.I don't trust valet parking either..I did have a tech once that was robbing banks during lunch break.Got caught right in the middle of a tranny job.Made life a pain for a few days.LOL

I agree, I took my D in for warranty work last week and I emptied out everything of value - even the coins I keep there for tolls, especially since I knew it would be there for about a week. No one will ever admit to having taken your coins or anything else, and if they park the truck outside at night, anything could turn up missing. Save yourself the hassle.

I wouldnt worry about it. Like the guys said if it means something to you take it with you. Its a garage not a church. If you like the dealer otherwise and your truck got fixed properly stick with the dealer and consider yourself lucky.

BTW, if you thought you got robbed from the cup holder just wait till you buy parts or get something worked on outside of warranty. ha! $4 is cheap!!

Back in the day, I used to park cars as a valet at the airport. Man, you wouldn't believe the stuff people leave in their cars. Money, dope, etc.

I just finished paying $19 for a cigarette lighter. Not the whole assembly just the lighter.
