Torsion Bar

How does one adjust the torsion bar in the tailgate of an Ram 1500? Mine seems a little too heavy.

I looked in the shop manual but it didn't mention anything about adjusting the torsion bar located in side of the tailgate. It is there to make the tailgate seem lighter in weight. To make it easier for us chronologically challenged to open and close the tailgate.
