Direct from the 2010 Owners manual. And yes they do have numbers on the pages. Section 3, page 117.

SmartBeam™ — If Equipped

The SmartBeam™ system provides increased forward lighting at night by automating high beam control through the use of a digital camera mounted on the inside rearview mirror. This camera detects vehicle specific light and automatically switches from high beams to low beams until the approaching vehicle is out of view.

NOTE: If the windshield or SmartBeam™ mirror is replaced, the SmartBeam™ mirror must be re-aimed to ensure proper performance. See your local authorized dealer.

To Activate
1. Enable the Automatic High Beams. Refer to “Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)/Customer-Programmable Features” in “Understanding Your Instrument Panel” for further information.
2. Turn the headlight switch to the AUTO headlight position.
3. Push the multifunction lever away from you (toward front of vehicle) to engage the high beam mode.
NOTE: This system will not activate until the vehicle is at or above 20 mph (32 km/h).

The only printed 'manual' I got with my RAM is called 'User Guide 2010' for RAM 1500/2500/3500 ends at page 92. And the on-line DVD-based manual doesn't seem to have pages. What manual do you have? Did I get shafted by not receiving some larger manual when I took delivery?

I didn't recieve that manual either, and I do not have the Smartbeam headlights, nor do I want them. How hard is it to remember to turn your highbeams off when you see another car coming ?

Can you tell me what manual, specifically, I'm missing so I can go yell at my sales guy?

Thanks,
Rob

They truly are not very useful. I would never pay for them again.

Default Owners Manuals

Those interested in getting a printed owners manual can obtain them from theDodge.com web site.

I'm talking about the old time genuine OWNERS manual not the USER guides or DVD's. I sent for the manuals for my 2010 by calling a number on the web site. I got manuals for the vehicle, radio and navigation. They contain a lot more detailed information on all the features.

They were free and took about 2 weeks to arrive.

You can download them for free from the Dodge website so why buy a hard copy?

I like to have a real one in the vehicle. Way easier to deal with then on-line because most of the time I'm needing info in the vehicle, not in the house.
