Owners manual says its a customer programable feature, if available. Its enabled thru the EVIC setup according to the manual. It automaticaly enables the high beam to come on with your low beam when the sensor (in the mirrow) does not detect light in front of your vehicle. Selling dealer told I had this featue but not according to the EVIC menue.
That's not what SmartBeam was on the Jeep. It was a system that detected the presence of vehicles in front of you and turned on the high beams when none were detected. The auto headlight portion where the lights turn on and off based on outside ambient light levels is different. Maybe the owners manual is actually talking about the auto headlight settings and not 'SmartBeam'?

My 2010 Jeep has it, it also has a black box that mounts next to the mirror with a lens/sensor to sense the oncoming traffic.
If you dont have that sensor my guess would be you dont have it, trust me you arent missing much if you dont, a useless feature around here.

I also looked through the EVIC setup section. There is nothing in my fully loaded Sport model referencing SmartBeam. Also, the 2010 RAM printed sales brochure does not list any feature similar to this about headlights.
As far as I can tell, the 2010 RAM 1500s have the capability to have auto on/off headlights and the option for them to turn on when the wipers are on. That's it. No SmartBeam functionality.

Pg 117 in the 2010 manual:
"SmartBeam™—If Equipped..
TheSmartBeam™system provides increased forward
lighting at night by automating highbeam control
through the use of a digital camera mounted on the
inside rearview mirror. This camera detects vehicle specific light and automatically switches from high beams to
low beams until the approaching vehicle is out of view."
Just look at the mirror, if it has a black box with a lens in front of it attached to it then you have it, if not you dont.
