your owners manual should tell you how to turn it off. Not sure what page but I think it is in the seatbelt or safety restraint section.

the dealer can disable it for you. I just brought my truck in the shop and disabled it myself.

The easiest and smartest way is to use the belt as intended.

Some of us use these trucks on farms and ranches with multiple gates for which it is necessary to exit the truck and open/close them. Pain in the a$$ to buckle up at each one. Therefore, disabling the nuisance chime is advantageous for us.

Believe it or not, WE REDNECKS have enough sense to buckle up without a chime reminder before operating our vehicles when the restraint system is necessary.

Here's how to deactivate the chime. (Page 52 of the 2009 Ram owner's Manual)

BeltAlert can be enabled or disabled by your authorized
dealer or by following these steps:

NOTE: The following steps must occur within the first
60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON
or START position. Chrysler LLC does not recommend
deactivating the BeltAlert.

1. With all doors closed and the ignition switch in any
position except ON or START, buckle the driver’s seat belt.

2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait
for the Seat Belt Reminder Light to turn off.

3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle
and then re-buckle the driver’s seat belt at least three
times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt
buckled.

4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to
signify that you have successfully completed the
programming.

BeltAlert can be reactivated by repeating this procedure.

NOTE: Although BeltAlert has been deactivated, the
Seat Belt Reminder Light will continue to illuminate
while the driver’s seat belt remains unbuckled.

I deactivated it myself, and after a week or so it came back on. Its a safety feature, just like airbags or ABS, you can disable it for a short amount of time but they build vehicles these days for sstems to be used.

If you don't want to use the seatbelt alarm, disable the system everytime you need to, not just the one time. It only takes a minute at the most !!
