IPod
Hey all,
I just bought an 2010 Ram Sport and it has the Ipod connect cable and the dvd deck. However if I hook up my Ipod classic it wont pop up as an option on my deck. Does it not support the older Ipods? or do I maybe have a problem?
Thanks
And also, Ive done a search for watching dvds while driving....is there any nice way around this?

thanks again
thanks again
The cable issue is really just about supporting device charging. Either cable should still allow iPod integration with the radio. Seems like something else is wrong.
You are talking about the 'iPod connect cable' located in the top glove box, right? Not the 1/8" mini-plug 'Aux' input cable? Though the 'Aux' input should work too, you'd have to control play on the iPod manually with that one. The big cable in the glove box allows you to actually fully control the iPod from the radio.
In order to play DVDs while moving you have to buy a 3rd-party device to 'hack' the system. Two I've heard of a AllGig and LockPick. Searches for those names will get you all the info on them you could need.

I am talking about the cable in the glove box. I have tried my Ipod Classic and an Ipod Touch to see if that was the problem and still no luck. If I plug it into the Aux plug then it works but I would like to control the Ipod with the deck. Maybe Ill track down to the dealer and see if they can check it out.
As for the DVD, i stumbled upon those setups to bypass. I also found that you can download the older software and bypass it by putting the movie in, then switching to the audio equalizer, put it in drive and then hit view video and it will work. We shall see. Its obviously not for me to watch when I drive, but its nice for the passengers.
Thanks for the help. Ill let you guys know what the deal ends up being with the Ipod.

Sounds like there is a problem with the radio or cable. No reason the iPod Touch shouldn't work (playing music at least, not necessarily charging).
What is the deal with downloading 'older software' for the DVD viewing?
