I am ordering a custom set of 2" lowered coils from a spring manufacturer in BC Canada. its $400 for the set, if anyone ese is interested they can make more, PM me for the details.
They also fabricate heavy duty rear coils for or trucks that are suited for guys that haul heavy loads or tow alot I'm going to start a new thread on that for anyone interested.

I realize this is helpful when hauling or towing something, but for those of us who never put anything in the bed it sits awefully high.

I know there are kits out to level the front end by lifting it a couple inches, are there any kits available to properly "level" it by lowering the back??

I was sick of looking at my '10 sport the way it was so i dissasembled the rear suspension and cut the rear coils a little shorter. The total rear drop was 2.25" and looks about right, I was just wondering if there is a kit available with shorter coils for our trucks.
(I emailed groundforce and they said a kit for the rear is in the works but not available as of yet)
If you cut your rear springs on a brand new truck to make it lower in the back....you might be a redneck....J/K

Something that doesn't heat a piece of spring steel. Good thing you are replacing them.

I wouldnt reccomend this method to anyone which is why I am looking for alternatatives, I am aware of the effects of heat on treated spring steel and the risks associated with it. I trimmed a small amount of the last coil off which didnt involve any signifiacant heat being transfered to the rest of the spring. I think heating and or bending the coils anywhere in the middle would be much more foolish.
...like you said, I am replacing the coils

Default springs

I am the one who looked into it but dont have time to chase it. It has to be a group buy to be worth while.. If someone wants to take it up go with it.

Thank you for the inquiry in our company. We can manufacture your coil spring, typically we would build from a sample spring along with a installed height of the spring when it has the full weight of the truck on it. Generally this process would cost for one pair around $400 however if you need more than one pair the cost would decrease per set. Our lead time at this moment would be 10 working days. If you would like more info or would like to get these started feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
Mike

Just an FYI If you torch a spring, you weaken it and it could break. Best to use an abrasive cut off wheel..
