Wimpy factory screws. I went bigger and it's nice and tight.

Cool Bug deflector

If you are as lucky as me, you probably followed the instructions and removed the rubber seal off the hood or grille. In speaking with the parts guy, that is what hold the deflector in place. The screws are not made to tighten up, only line up the deflector. I am getting a new rubber seal sent to me courtesy of Dodge. Sorry I couldn't help you in July but I just purchased my Ram last week. I hope this helps.

I just installed mine and also think the screws suck. The instructions I had didn't say anything about a rubber seal though - is this for the hood, or on top of the grill? I didn't notice one that seem to do anything to help tighten the loose deflector either.

Leave the rubber seal on and don't worry about the screws not getting tight!

I also went to the hardware store and bought some clear adhesive guards to place between the bug deflector and the hood of the truck. I used about six of them to keep the bug guard from bending back on to the hood at hight speed. Just FYI.
