Exclamation Anyone have problems with auto lights??

Hey Guys, Just made a trip to wal-mart and noticed on the way home the dash and radio was very dim. I looked at the dash and saw that the fog light was light up and also saw the reflection of the headlights on the car in front of me. I turned the light switch to the off postion then back to the auto and they came back on. Got to the house turned truck off and let it set for a min. then restarted it and they came back on. Time was 1630 in the afternoon on a very sunny hot day in Oklahoma WTF?? Not worried just thought it was odd. Also checked the sensors and its not covered or dirty just very odd. Most of the time when I leave the garage they turn on but once it is outside they switch off. Was just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them?

No windshield tint. Went to the store this morning and everything was fine. Backed out of the garage and they turned off like normal. Wierd. Oh well.

I've seen that happen before on vehicles with auto lights, notably on our 2005 Grand Cherokee. It wasn't a chronic issue. Sometimes things between the computer and sensors just get confused.

Never had that happen to me, but I do hate it when its an overcast day and they continually switch on and off because they can't make up their mind which side of the threshold they should be on. Oh well, I guess that's the price you pay for turning control of a feature to a computer...

The Auto Lights are also activated by the Wipers being ON (but if a Sunny OKC Day, that was unlikely - right ?)...

i had a problem with mine coming on and going off when driving down a shady road. they would come on in the shade and turn off when i hit a patch of sun. this is not good for my HID's lol. i figured out that my state inspection sticker was directly over the sensor so when i had it inspected i had them put the new sticker off to the side. no more problems.

They are very sensitive. Mine go on and off all the time so I leave it in the off position a lot.
