longer intake manifolds will create more torque even on fuel injected vehicles.
the longer the run between the valves and the throttle plate the more torque respone you will have
thats why the hemis in the cars have short runners

BUT I AGREE SPACERS ARE A WASTE OF MONEY

Well, I drove like a total bitch this week and without going over 60 mph on the highway and a mix of 60 highway and 40 city driving I averaged 17 mpg vs my usual 14.7 mpg regular driving all hand calculated. So the modified throttle body did not make my mileage any worse, but I will drive it regular and see if it gets better than my average. By the way my evic display said I was getting 18.3 mpg.

You said you had it tapered. Did you start at 85mm then taper (larger or smaller)

If you can let me know some more details, I want to do this to my truck.

thanks!

The air entering the throttle body started at 85 mm then tapers in smaller slightly. Then it was polished. I think they also did something to the throttle body butterfly. I am not sure if you can enlarge it 85 mm all the way cause then you will have a throttle body larger then the actual mounting area seal. Overall I am happy with the results, but also would consider the BBK throttle body.

I have looked into BBK throttle bodys. I found it for 408.54 with free shipping from AutoPartsDealer.com.

Has anyone here ever ordered from them??

I just installed mine from modern muscle and I am loving the crisp throttle response. It runs a lot better now than it did before, and like twist had mentioned it just runs smoother. I will have to run a few tanks through to see if I pick up any mpg's.

I would avoid the BBK units. I had one on my camaro. The arm for the blade broke. Luckily the blade didn't stick open. BBK refused to even work with me on the issue.

Glad to hear it worked out for you like it did for me. Hopefully your MPG will go up a little; mine did.
