Default 09/10 grill

I did search for this exact question, and either its not there, or i missed it. if i missed it, sorry gang..

But the 2010 have a new grill, horizontal billet grill. I know we can go out and buy the aftermarket grill that snaps over your 2009 ram grill, OR the mopar ones with that honeycomb that are overpriced...But what about just trying to get a junked 2010, and salvaging the grill? Or even ordering a direct replacement from a 2010, the grill, and installing on a 09

anyone know if that will work

So you're looking for the billet inserts for your color matched TRX grille? The inserts are interchangeable, the 09 and 10 grilles are exactly the same. Of course that's 1500s only, the 2500 and 3500s have a different slope on them and won't work.

Oh, I forgot to answer the part about the billet themselves. The billet inserts aren't new for 2010. They were used on 2009 Lone Star & Big Horn packages. It wasn't until 2010 that the billets made their way into the later Sport trucks.

Here is the OEM part # 82211741AB

I bought mine (for an '09 Ram) through Pollard Dodge in Colorado $175.00 shipped to my door. Then I sold the stock black honeycomb on ebay for $50.00

Here's the link but you may find another online OEM parts dealer closer to you and save a few $$ on shipping.

05Dakota is correct with the part number. I am changing to the horizontal billet just because I like the look better, so I have been weighing my options (OEM or aftermarket like t-rex grilles etc.) and just decided to go with the mopar horizontal billet grille. Apparently not too hard to change the grille yourself, but you have to be careful with the lower tabs on the grille when removing. If you don't want to do it yourself I was told the book lists labour at just 0.5hrs. Fairly cheap for labour to not have to be concerned with damaging anything.

I was quoted $190 CDN + labour from the dealer which is probably around the same as the $175 US that 05Dakota paid for grille+ shipping so get a price from your local dealer about ordering one in for you

Both my 09 and 10 have identical honeycomb grilles. No change at all.

Yes, the 2009 and 2010 TRXs have the exact same black honeycomb inserts. However, the OP is looking to add the silver billet inserts to his TRX. Well, that's what I got out of it at least.

Oh, and thanks a ton Dakota for the part number. I've been thinking of swapping mine out on my Sport, but was dreading the part search with the local dealer. Painful would be an understatement.

Actually the tricky part of removing the grill is the 2 small lower hooks that retain the bottom part of the grill. You have to remove the radiator insulator (mat) by removing pressure pins on top of the radiator. Then remove 4 upper grill support bolts. Now you have to release the 2 springs at each end the liberate the hooks to pull off th grill. Thanks to the service manual!!!!
