Default Differential

Have taken my wife’s 2010 Jeep Rubicon (8K miles) out on a few trails, some with lots of water, so decided to change the diff fluid last night. There were definitely fine shavings on the plug that I cleaned up and filled her back up with synthetic oil. Figuring it’s the new gears wearing in.

This got me thinking:
1. What type of oil comes in the diff of my 2010 Ram 3.92? Standard or synthetic?
2. When should I change it for the first time?

This is from the 2009 manual, but is likely the same as what the one in your glove compartment says:

MOPAR
Synthetic Gear Lubricant SAE 75W-140 (MS-8985). Limited-Slip
Rear Axles require the addition of 118 ml (4 oz.) MOPAR

Limited Slip
Additive or equivalent.

As for when to change it, look at the maintenance schedule in your book. Mine is getting changed for the first time at 30K
