Where did you get this information? I follow the diesel forums and everyone is unplugging theirs, all I hear are good things besides a cel light. I wouldn't drive a 2010 off the lot before unplugging the egr.

Of course the best thing to do is delete everything but for the trucks sake at least disable the damn egr, it won't hurt the warranty

Love my truck so far.....what a comfortable ride and the exhaust brake is amazing thus far. I have only towed our atv's last weekend, so no real weight yet, but it held the load back at a consistent 35 mph right where I wanted it.

As far as the mileage.....or mods.....babied my old 24 valve 98.5 2500 during the first couple thousand miles and she treated me right....I could get upwards of 25-26 on the highway empty on long runs. Not too shabby.

This one has me worried to some extent.....can certainly afford to feed the beast fuel financially, but would like to get higher than an average of 13. I am looking at getting a new 5vr next spring as I had to sell my old Lance camper when I let my 98 2500 go. I can only imagine what my towing fuel mileage will be.

I wouldnt mind doing some simple mods like a K&N, etc. but dont want to do anything to void the warranty. Any other input?

with the new diesels you are just screwed when it comes to mileage. not like the old days of a 5 inch exhaust and a intake and they would pick up some power and mpg's. All you can do is wait for a newer cummins and hope they address the fuel economy. like I said before our new superduty with the 6.7 diesel is awesome compared to the old 6.4. It gets 20mpg highway and about 13 pulling a fifth wheel or our 1500 gallon water tanker. Dont know how the new duramax does.

I have the 2010 3500 CTD 4X4 3.73 rear end
And my EGR has been unplugged for 22,000 miles no problems!!! Best avg I've seen is 18.5 all interstate driving at 72 mph. I got a 2-3 mpg increase, if you have to take the truck into dealer just plug it back in and after a few start and stops the check engine light will go off.

I put a 5" Flo-pro TBE w/no muffler, and mini max programer from H&S performance and I'm getting 22 mpg now!! Now more regens for me. And what a difference it makes. The truck is a beast! Really fun to drive!
