Default Brake pedal clicking

I'm wondering if this is normal but when I press down the brake pedal on my 2009 Ram, I can hear a loud click and you can feel it click through your foot. Its been to the dealer twice and both times they replaced the brake switch. My rental was a 2010 Ram and it was silent.

Mine does it about 70% of the time. I have not talked to the dealer yet about the issue. I did a quick search and this issue has been discussed before. One poster said the dealer replaced the brake booster and that took away the click.

Well its going back to the dealer for sure, its clicking about halfway down and I just noticed the brake light doesnt activate till it clicks, so i might be sitting at a light with no brake lights on.

I had the same issue, along with a creaking noise, took it back to the dealer and they took it apart and greased everything, works fine now

Well my truck has been with the dealer now for two days, spoke with the advisor today and they said they have to contact Chrysler on what to do next, I guess whatever is wrong deals with the shaft.

Well dealer/chrysler said the clicking was normal, they tested other vehicles and the same thing was happening, bull crap, the rental they gave me didnt click. They also said they fixed the issue with my brake pedal lamp not activating till the pedal was depressed about half-way down, this is when the loud click appears. So once again its gotta go back.

its the btsi (brake transmission shift interlock) once it clicks it activates a switch that allows you to shift into drive from park and so on;.

It clicks when the brake pedal reaches about half way down to the floor. It also engages the brake lamps. Dealer supposedly replaced two of them.

its always been in our minivans and ive noticed it in pacificas as well.
i have always thought it was somewhat normal but may be wrong since no one ever complains about it.

sit in your truck with the truck running and keep pulling down on the shift lever while slowly hitting the brakes, while still pulling down on the lever. once you hear the click i bet your shift lever will finally release and go into drive
