Default Am I hearing drone or is it an exhaust install problem?

I just put duals on my 2010 Ram, with a Flowmaster 40. I've noticed that at higher speeds, usually 35+ mph, I'll hear an almost scraping noise coming out of the back..as if I was dragging a piece of metal on the ground..but I'm not. It only last for a few seconds and once I take my foot off the gas it goes away.

I'm thinking that with the CAI and my v6, it's just the intake pushing more air through than the exhaust can handle.

Can anyone confirm? Suggestions?

Thanks.

Did you happen to notice if the fuel saver light was on when you heard it? MDS will make the motor sound like it is falling apart through some exhaust systems.

He said "V6". That rules out MDS.

Ah, missed that. Didn't even know you could get the V6 in anything but an RC work truck.

Assuming it is the same 3.7 that they use in the Jeep Wrangler, you might have better luck on a jeep forum with the exhaust questions.

In general, the smaller the engine the worse a flowmaster sounds. I ran a flowmaster 40 on my 2.5L jeep for a while until the noise drove me nuts.
