alright. ive decided against the bfg all terrains for now. i do a lot of highway, city driving. so i dont really need them right now.

im pretty much torn between these michelin's

What is the difference in price? I like the look of the Toyos better, but the Michelin's will likely be quieter and more smooth.

 

I didnt like my Michelin ltx at2 tires. They are a very heavy tire that will pick up every little rock in the road and toss it up on your truck. They are one of the heaviest tires made in the size you are looking for and have allot of rolling resistance so expect a loss in mpg. I lost a solid 3 mpg with my 08 hemi..

 

wow skiing... ususally michelins are bulletproof for mpg,, and longevity...

 

IMO, Michelin makes the best wearing/riding tires. I have used several sets of LTX M/S on all my SUV and Pickups. That being said, I had a set Bridgestone Dueler Alenza H/L and they were an awsome highway tire. I got 70,000 miles on the Alenzas, but just put a set of LTX M/S 2 on my 03 Yukon. I usually get 80K on the LTX.

 

yeah, me too. i have run the ltx m/s street tires for a long time. they are hands down the best street tire out there, for longevity etc.

so thats why i fig. it would be a smart choice to go with the ltx at2 tires. im looking for a little more aggressive tire,, but dont want to go quite, the route of the bfg all terrain anymore. since i dont off road, two track etc. i do make trips up north, back roads etc.. cause of family so i would like a little bit more traction. (toyo or mich.)

The open country tires are great for wear. We have them on our 2011 superduty and have had them on our other older 3/4 ton trucks. We can get about 50k out of them and that includes pulling seed trailers in the spring and a 1500 gallon water tanker in the summer and they hold up excellent. Also our superduty is a diesel so for the people who know, diesel trucks are very hard on tires because of their torque but like I said, we have always had good luck with the toyo's

Yes they are and I have a set on my 2010 2500 now. The AT2 is they only tire Michelin makes that I have ever been unhappy with. Like I said the picking up off little rocks that chipped the side of my truck and the loss of mpg is what I didnt like. I only had the tires for 5000 miles or so before I replaced them so I have no idea how long they would have last. The 2011 ford f250 and 350 come with the AT2 stock now.

 

Those were the first thing to go when we picked ours up.
