I don't like it either but are your service techs that bad? I am sure they wont get it on your paint. In fact I would not be surprised if we are not using that fluid that doesnt eat paint, take heat better. Check your book or lid. I think it's DOT 5 that is silicon based instead of glycol and shouldn't eat the paint but Dot 1 thru 4 double as automotive paint strippers.

Check your lid. Or manual. My owner's manual says this about brake fluid:

MOPAR DOT 3 and SAE J1703 or equivalent. If DOT 3 brake fluid is not available, then DOT 4 is acceptable. Use only recommended brake fluids.
Are the techs at my dealer that bad?? Well, I can't say that with conviction. I haven't used them steadily since our 2000 Jeep needed work (1999-2003). They didn't impress me then, that's for sure. Well, I did have the Ram in for service one time recently and the following occurred:

I showed the service writer that my driver's side rear door was hard to shut (takes extra force to close it). It was easy to demonstrate, occurred consistently, and the service writer says "that should be easy to adjust". When the truck came back to me the following was written on the invoice: "no problem found". Yes, that's not careless incompetence, but it is indicative of the overall quality of people I'm dealing with.

Sitting in the dealer waiting room right now having mine done. Crossing my fingers on the paint issue and also that they bleed them correctly. I'd hate the brakes to be mushy after this.
