I am @ 3300kms right now (approx 2000 miles) should I be getting it changed this weekend? Also, should I switch to synthetic now?

I would change it sooner than later.. From what I read, there isn't much of a breakin needed, so changing to synthetic as soon as posible would be a fine choice. I intend on keeping mine for a long time so I switched to synthetic after my first oil change and won't look back.

Dealership wants $105 +tax for a synthetic change. That seems steep, even if it is 7 litres.

Sounds right.. They want $125 Cnd. at the stealership up here. But I didn't do the first one because the filter is a pain to get off the first time. I have done all changes myself after that.

2 months 1000km, and every 3 months or 5000 km's whichever comes first so we usually change the oil with around 2000kms , 11000 km's and we have had like 5 or 6 oil changes. Only warranty issue I might cause is wear out the threads on the plug or the oil filter.

I did mine at 1100 miles, both oil and filter (which was a MAJOR pita to get off.) I did it so early for the just in case of metal particles or anything else that may have come loose during break in. I know its an extremely slim chance but my luck is extremely poor (if I wasn't hogging all the bad luck you all would be ****ed btw so you're welcome.) I usually do oil and filter changes every 2 months after the breakin period.

There's not a name brand oil in a 5w20 and many other weights that need to be drained every 2 months in modern vehicles.Unless you do 10k in 2 months.Do some reading about oils in this century.www.bobistheoilguy.com

Well, the $105 is cnd, as I am in Cobourg Ontario. Good, I am not as concerned now as that seems to be the price for a synthetic change. I just want to ask them what kind of oil they are using first.

If you check your receipt at the dealer it will say right on it 5w20 since the majority of cars they have use that oil, our Avenger 2.7L uses it. Our Charger with 3.5L used it so did our Sebring 3.5 HO so I just hit the dealer when necessary and they check stuff over good to get warranty work. They tell you about leaks etc.
