Post What rear diff/axle do I have?

Hi folks,

How do I know what rear differential/axle I have in my truck?
It’s a 2500 diesel MC with 4.10’s (see sig below).
The numbers I was able to read are:
(T) X2DH040011103
(p) 52132162AB
52132162AB A 4 1L

Can I tell from that, or do I need the VIN? I was hoping that the numbers right off the unit would be conclusive.

Thanks

-John

It's too bad they didn't make it easy like the 1500 trucks. Ours have build stickers with the ratio attached to the axle.

The VIN should do the trick. I think the two number you found are part numbers for the housing, etc. That's just a guess though since I'm no expert.

The dealer should be able to tell from your vin but I remember checking this once before and the deisels had the Dana and the gas 2500 had a Chrysler 10.5 or something like that... I just checked they come with a 11.5 not 10.5 so more than likely it's an 11.5 inch limited slip rear axle being a deisel 4.10...that's pretty damn big!
