Default High Pitched Whistle/Whine right at 45-50 mph

I have a very annoying, predicable and reproducable sound that starts right at 45 mph and goes away right about 51 mph whith gas being applied. When crusing at standard roud speed with normal gas pedal depression, right at 45 mph a high pitched whistle/whine noise starts from the engine (at least I think its engine). As I continue to gradually speed up right at 51 mph it stops. At lets say 48 mph holding steady you can easily make it go on and off by taking foot off gas and reapplying gas. Very predicatble and narrow range. Sounds, kinda like maybe intake of some kind? Hoping its a known issue. Its loud enough that others have commented on it. Thoughts?

Well then you have a perfect situation to take to the dealer and they will be able to find it, willl they be able to fix it??? A lot of people having issues with the rear end making that noise at that speed.

No mods, other than basic K&N filter. Think it did that before filter though.

Man, I have the same exact problem you have, however, mine is at 55-60 MPH. As soon as I get to 61, it cuts off. I don't have any mods on my truck. It is a 2009 Quad Cab Hemi 4x4 with 3.55 gears. Thats crazy. I'm going to ask the dealership about it when I go in for my next oil change soon.

Keep me posted. I only marginally trust my dealer to try hard at diagnosis.

Default whining noise

I have the same issue with my 2010 Ram Hemi I bought 2 months ago in August. It makes a very annoying noise exactly between 45 and 55 mph and after that disappears. Will mention it to the dealer when I take it for the first oil change. will let you know what is the dealer's answer or solution.

Glad Im not alone, but sorry you have it also. Mine is at dealer now for that. Definitely rear end, when you turn head to right to listed to rear its even mmore noticeable. Made service rep go for ride with me and he definitely heard it and said "Yep, thats not right." Make them go hear it so you dont get that dreaded call saying "Could not duplicate condition." Especially if they drive it with windows open its not as noticeable.

I also have soem strange "rough: spots in the drive train at or near shift points when giving just slight gas. Thankfully they felt that as well. They think they might be related (but not so sure).

I should get a call later today or tomorrow and will post their findings.
