Had that day 1 with my truck. Look under your hood, you will see a round hole that would be directly above te switch you found. There should be a plastic piece (not rubber) in the hole that pushes the switch when the hood is closed, I am guessing it is gone. I knocked mine off while drying the truck, luckily I found mine. I would bet it is a $5 part at the dealership.

Lol well it happened to me today also. I guess Ill go buy a rubber hose and make something up.
