so i noticed oil leaking yesterday, unsure the exact location but around the oil filter and all below it on the actuator for the 4wd is covered, i turned the oil filter by hand 1/4"-1/2"
cant pin point a leak point so tuesday shes going to the shop to see why
dropped the truck off and already got a call, the o-ring on the oil filter was pinched causing the leak......they replaced and cleaned the mess up and ready for pick up
im betting this aint the first time its happened there
there is nothing wrong with the filter o-ring. the problem is the dealer isnt putting the filter on tight enough. ive had my oil changed twice by the dealer and every time i have an oil leak at the filter. if you can tighten it by hand than its not tight enough. i will change my own oil from now on.
Cuz they are scared they won't get it off, for some reason you overtighten these hemi's just a tad bit too much and it becomes a project to get the filter off.
