Question Rear Window Defroster

Is there a kit to add rear window defroster lines to my back window? I remember back in the 80's, JCWhitney sold a kit for it. Now I'm not able to find anything like that on the internet. Anyone else seen this type of add-on?

I'd also like to find (black aluminum) louvers for the back window. Maybe they wouldn't work on a truck. I know they're old school, but I like them. Any help finding these things would be appreciated.

I think you can find them at autozone right next to the 8 track players...

(Sorry, couldn't help myself).

Seems like if you had the louvres the defrost would be useless but........

Here's some louvres: http://www.sfxperformance.com/catalo...uck/page_1.htm

Unhappy Swing and a miss

Thanks Feralhog. They don't make them for the 2010 Ram's yet, but maybe they will in the future. Yes, defroster and louvers work well together in Michigan. The back window can still fog/ice over at times with only louvers, but the louvers help a lot.

I did find these for about $50. They also sell kits for the front windshield for the wiper area.

I didn't think you'd be able to see out the back enough to need defrost but I've never had louvres in a vehicle.

I had Louvres on my 79 Chevy van and no windows on the side, it was a travelling party sex machine that doubled as a delivery van in the middle of the night. Threw some plywoods on the floor **** carpet some panelling and a killer stereo. Oh I miss those days, it was a hippy love machine. Headers duals, Aluminum poished rims Dunlop GtQualifiers. Coolest delivery van in town loudest too, that stereo had a speaker in every door and then some. The louvres were impossible to see in or out, but they were cool and did their job.
By the way I thought they either came with the defrost window or the power slider? That window is hard to keep clean in the winter of snow and ice I mean it makes a swirl right there and the warm window makes it stick till it melts.

Thumbs up LOL I'm not the only old person here

I had louvers on my 78 Firebird (Smokey and the Bandit movie car). I could see out the window just fine, but it sure kept it cooler in there during the summer months.

Yes, the car in the movie was a Trans Am, but mine was basically the same without the bigger engine (until I threw in a 400 CID chevy stroker).
