Am I looking at this wrong??? Looks like a 'kink' or hellofabend in the hose between the filter and the Intake?

I've heard of folks using air compressor filters to do this mod,,,, some remove the filter element,,,

I opted for the BT catch can made specifically for the 4th gen RAMS. Comes with everything you need including a bracket. p/n 20014

Don't want to hurt anyones feelings, but a there can be a difference in the effectiveness of catch cans,,, (Some catch more oil than others)

In 5,000 miles, I get about 1/3 to 1/2 a cup of oil in my BT.

Thanks for the mention to Billet Tech, some neat stuff there!

The catch can is at: http://www.custombilletstore.com/Bil...7L_p/20014.htm

It's a little pricey at $129, but sure looks nice.

Default Some fine reading on Catch Cans

http://www.conceptualpolymer.com/PCV...oval%20102.pdf

I myself don't have one on any of my vehicles but I do also own a C5 vette where the PCV system is inadequate so I came across this article. I don't know if the 5.7 hemi has an issue or not with the PCV system.

Update:
I have not stopped draining my homemade catch can on a daily basis yet. I have about 1,700 miles with it soo far. I just overflowed the oil cap that I was dumping it in. I did not drive my truck Fri,Sat, or Sun last week and never dumped Thursday night. I drove it about 5 miles on Monday and remembered to dump it. I noticed the oil looked like coffee with a lot of cream in it. I'm assuming it was due to water vapor mixing with the oil. I just dumped the oil tonight and it looked normal (just like every other oil dump).

Update: After 5000 miles I collected almost 1/4 cup of oil. The only reason I got that much oil was because I drained it on a daily basis for my test. What I noticed is that the catch can container used is not deep enough. The pictures above is all the container can hold before it starts swirling. Once the swirl starts, the oil climbs up the side of the catch can and defeates the purpose of the filter by going back into the air intake. If you don't empty it on a daily basis, you will have the same oil level in the container all the time. So I call this homemade setup a failure.

Sorry to hear that, but many thanks for your efforts and the update!
