Question Regular Cab Aftermarket Exhaust WTF?

Ok, someone help me out here. Why am I having such a hard time finding exhaust options for my 2010 R/T? There is no consistency in how the different manufacturers list the systems. Some say (Corsa) it's for the 140" wheel base. Others say (Gibson) it is dependent on the cab. Then you've got Magnaflow saying the same system will fit RC/SB, QC/SB and CC. Does this make any sense to anyone?

It would seem to me that forward of the bed the exhaust length would be different to compensate for the cab design and that I should be able to run any exhaust that fits the 6'4" bed. But, apparently not.

I would have liked to of gone with the Corsa DB system to keep the warranty happy. But, as that is not an option it's looking like I'll be going with the Magnaflow 16869 as that's the only system I can find that says it fits my truck.

Someone else will have to confirm, but I am 90% positive the pipe length difference is not made up in the rear of the truck. It is made up before the muffler, which is why a cat back will fit any cab config.

My thinking exactly. It seems it would be much cheaper to make one pipe longer or shorter than three different multi-pipe configurations after the cat.

Don't know about the King Cab (shorter bed), but I was told by AFE it went by the bed size. So Quad Cab would be the same as the Regular Cab but it's been a yr and 1/2 since so don't quote me on it. Theirs are pre fit to exact manufactures specs so maybe you should call them to make sure. You don't have to purchase from them but they were the very first to make the pre fit for the new Ram so they should know. I bought mine from them...3" in and 3" out muffler on back to the tips for my RCSB. Sound is about a 5 or 6 with 10 being the loudest. I don't like noise or drone and it sounds beautiful to me but for each his own, good luck!

who says you have to go with aftermarket kit?

Cut the y pipe run two muflers and a way you go, any mufler shop can do this, just don't get talked into the dynomax ultra flow, thiers room to run two individual muflers.

On the ram with the cute ex cut outs in the bumper, it still has a y pipe ( not a true dual )

Everyone says that...I'd like to think of it as "not a complete dual exhaust system". It is dual exhaust from the muffler on back to the cute cut outs, lol! My old 85 Iroc...sort of the same thing but with two in and two out through one muffler running sideways near the gas tank. There was no room under that floorboard being so close to the ground and there's no room under the truck bed because of the gas tank. I'd like to yank mine out and put a fuel cell in place of the spare tire...I can't stand the gas tank area in pickups! Either way you'd be stuck with two pipes running down the passenger side looking like crap so why even waste your time with complete duals. The only clean way is to run them outside of your frame rails with the tips coming out the side of the bed in front of your rear tires like the Chevy SS. Cute huh?...funny, lol!
