i had a set on my 02 ram and like you said they will drain a battery if you leave them on. i'm lucky my neighbor came home from work after me and if they were on he'd honk to let me know, saved my a$$ alot. mine were set up almost like yours just had a wider spread not a point in front but they did pass the light from the headlights. i liked the mod.

They don't get too hot for the grille?

They look great though...I like 'em. Up where I live you need the best lighting you can have. Deer, bear, little furry creatures standing in the road are a Bitch when you doing 40-50 around a curve and can't see.....Yikes!

This has got to be one of the cleanest mod's I have ever seen. I have seen them on a lot of 3rd Generation Ram's but never on a 4th Generation. I want a Bull Bar so I doubt I will do this mod but I am curious what it is going to look like on a new Ram.

We have them on our truck, or almost the same...
You can see them here:

Though only running them with high beams...

Based on the tiny switch and wires, the lights must have used a relay to turn on and off, so you can pull power from almost anywhere to feed power to the switch and ultimately the relay when you flip the switch on.

Instead of pulling power straight from the battery, pull it from the 12v DC outlet (aka, cigarette lighter jack) that is controlled by the ignition.

It will allow you to operate the lights totally separately from the low beams/high beams and fogs, yet will turn off with the truck, saving your battery.

i second that last part... to ensure that the lights will be turned off with the car than use a switched 12v to get power from. i know alot of ppl dont like to get tooo into it but i drew power straight from my ignition to run all my gauges in my mazda along with wideband O2 sensor and turbo timer... this way when the car is off so is everything else.
