Why didn't you just buy the entire rear end assembly and swap it out with yours? You'd be done already.

It's a trac-lock. Not much to see from the outside, clutches are on the ring gear side behind the side gear. Its the Yugo of lockers, if you are going through all the trouble of a gear setup I'd buy a real locker or a better LSD.

I picked it up for $260. It was far cheaper than anything else I've found and its the OEM diff. I dont see what the issue is? Maybe someone can explain - aside from the added effort, it was the most economical solution.

Problem is that it takes some skill and some special tools to do a gear setup and most folks have neither. Failing to get the preload, pinion depth and pattern correct will result in noise and eventually gear failure.

Usually costs about $400 in labor to pay someone who knows what they are doing. By the time you add in the master install kit that any installer worth .10 would require, you would have been money and time ahead to swap the entire axle.

I concur, especially after experiencing my own gear swap issues and the horror stories on this forum.

I rebuilt a V6 from a 350Z, built the mounts, rewired the harness to accept the CanBus and wedged it into a Sentra - this diff wont be a problem.
