I fail to see how that is supposed to help. Now it appears that the majority of the intake air is coming from under the hood. More like a HAI system.

The top of the AFE filter box mates up with the hood when closed thus isolating it from the engine compartment, cold air is still drawn in from the wheel well. Also, the intake tube is much less restrictive than the stock one, less bends, no ridges etc. Finally, the air filter flows 22% more than the stock one. All three of these things add up and you can tell when driving it.

I will patiently wait to see the difference in ET's he gets after the CAI. Picture of tuner required to convince me.

13.59 was prior to CAI.

OK I will post up a pic of the data log and then we can see if it helped or not. Sorry but I am not trying to convince anyone to buy an AFE or arguing its value. I am simply providing the photos and info that were requested in this thread so others might get a preview of the product before plunking down hard earned $$.

1954 radio, I am running the 13.59 according to my SC logger. I run 15.32 at 7000ft. There is a nifty website that corrects for DA and gives you your equivalent seal level correction. Just enter your temp, altitude and baro and it does the conversion. My corrected time is 13.597 seconds. 4rth gen RCSB Hemi Rams can easily be in the 13's esp with the 3.92 gears. There is one QC I know of that has track slips putting him at 13.9 in the quarter (yes QC). My mods at the time were a K&N drop, SC Tuner with canned 93 tune on 91 gas. Rev limiter @ 6400, 1-2 shift at 6100, 2-3 shift at 6000. I am sure shorty headers and exhaust will get me mid to low 13's (corrected). I would have got an R/T but I need the 4x4 here so I have the extra 300lbs or so.

Here is what you get in the box:

I think the K&N is also a good choice, its just that the AFE is cheaper and perfroms just as well if not better and has the dry filter. My last run on SC logger was a 13.59 second quarter, I am thinking that this CAI has shaved a few tenths off that. Will make a few runs this afternoon and see.
Thanks for the pictures.

Is this the AFE stage 2?
