Weather stripping turning white
I found a product called "Protectant 303". Its promoted as "SPF 40 sunscreen....for your stuff". I bought it as a protectant for my soft tonneau cover, but its for uses on all exterior plastic and rubber etc. as a protectant. I have been applying it about 3 times a year and my trim looks the same as when I drove it off the lot. Not sure how widespread its availability is, but its the best stuff I have found for this application.

It's available at www.autogeek.net or at any marine supply stores. BEST STUFF EVER
Just about every car/manufacturer will do this given enough time. I use "The Wax Shop" light liquid carnuba on my cars/trucks when the trim starts discoloring(maybe annually) and have never had an issue. FWIW this is my 2nd Dodge truck, both live outside year round, and I have yet to see any discoloration in 2yrs. I live in SC if weather/climate matter.
Discoloring yes like fading to a brown tint, but not white like he is reffering. That is rubber that hasn't chemicly cross linked. Or of you do see if turn white years down the road thats oxidation. Which protectants and cleaners can resolve. Rubber will continue to cure throughout its life. So if in fact it is an undercured piece of rubber it should improve all by itself given enough time. And tust me undercured seals is a common thing in todays vehicles.
